I’m a writer. I’ve been writing and publishing professionally for well over three decades, both fiction and nonfiction books, articles, short stories, and novels. I’m also a Master Screenwriter. I’ve been a judge in novel writing contests for a couple decades.
Writing is a way of life. I started in nonfiction and I found nonfiction considerably easier than writing fiction. The transition from writing nonfiction to fiction was challenging for me. Especially because technical nonfiction was what my first few books were about: technical topics like neural networks, artificial intelligence and robotics. Heck, some of them were actual college/graduate level textbooks! A far, far cry from an exciting, emotional journey in fiction.

So writing fiction is different. With fiction, you have a whole world to create, a whole cast of characters to produce, and you have to imagine what those characters would realistically do given who they are and the situation they’re in. It’s challenging to say the least. But it’s also really fun.
Sorry…is that a spoiler for you?
And just to complicate the issue, I also write nonfiction books on the skills needed to create Page-Turner Fiction, by which I mean fiction that is so good, the reader simply cannot stop turning the page and reading…reading…and reading!
I publish my nonfiction books under Meg Leader as part of the Page-Turner Fiction series.
